Stewardship

What if you wanted to tell someone the most important thing in the world and you knew they wouldn’t believe you; you knew they wouldn’t accept it as the truth. That is the way many Priests and Nuns have felt over the centuries as they have tried to bring the word of God to people all over the world. In spite of that, however, they succeeded in sharing Catholicism with the world because stewardship of the faith was a part of who they were.

Stewardship is about service. It is recognizing that God made us and our hearts are made for God. It is recognizing that God made everything and everyone around us. We are here for just a short time, but while we are here we are called to care for things in such a way that what we pass on to future generations is better for our being here.

Take some time and think about the things and people in your life that God has given you stewardship over (family, friends, finances, resources, etc.). Good stewardship is a blessing. Being a good steward is one of the things that brings us happiness and fulfillment.
