The concept of absolute truth teaches us that there are truths about God, ourselves, and the world around us that affect us whether we believe in or subscribe to those truths or not.

Examples of absolute truth would be anger, greed, hatred, love, lust (for power, money, sex, etc.), jealousy, and envy. There are things that seem to be present in the human condition regardless of culture, time, place, or other relative situations.

We live in a world that teaches us that morals and values are cultural and relative. But what if this is not the case? There is so much unhappiness and confusion in the world. Perhaps one of the reasons is that without truth there is no freedom and without freedom there can be no real happiness.

To fully understand the concept of absolute truth and how it applies to your life and the world around you we encourage you to read two extraordinary Papal Encyclicals: Veritatis Splendor and Ad Petri Cathedrum. Along with reading these encyclicals, pray the Rosary, in the hope that God will fill you with the Holy Spirit and open your heart to His truth.
